In this course we are going to learn designing and development in polygon . We will learn to use ethereum development suites and Polygon frameworks in our projects.

Polygon which was previously also called Matic Network is a layer 2 ethereum scaling protocol which address an evolving Dapp requirements such as efficiency , transaction speed and throughput.

It was originally designed as a scaling solution since then it evolved into a ecosystem that's been receiving lots of upgrades and additions .

Over time matic's success in projects such as Decentraland (Mana) ,Maker (MKR), Coinbase (Coin) and Aave boosted the valuation of Polygon Network .

At the core of the network is the Polygon software development kit (SDK), used to build Ethereum-compatible decentralized applications as sidechains and connect them to its main blockchain.

It is a developer friendly tool which comes with lot of useful resources and frameworks to create, design and implement.

$MATIC is the native token of Polygon. It is used to govern and secure the network by staking.

PoS

A Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism that transfers the transactions from the main blockchain to the sidechains.

Polygon uses PoS consensus and the Heimdall architecture for scalability and power of its multi-chain system.
